Hole reinforcers DIY Nails

Just recently purchased some hole reinforcer's! And yes... They are those things you use to reinforce the holes on your paper inside your ring binder! But I thought they could work well to either create a French manicure or a variety of different circular shapes on your nails! Buy hole reinforcer's here!
Above shows the hole reinforcers, because I only wanted to use half the circle I've cut the reinforcers in half so I get more usage out of them!

Above shows what I used to create my hole reinforcer DIY nails! I've chose to use two similar colours a pink Barry M and also a purple one! I tend to always square my nails off using a glass nail file, I have two different glass nail files - one can be accessed clicking the link and the other is from boots, this gives them more of a false nail look that is close to perfect! As shown below! Glass nail file can be bought here!
So to start with I painted the base of my nails with the purple Barry M, a second layer of the purple and then waited and waited and waited..... And waited - for them to dry properly!
So after waiting.. And waiting.. Now surely is the time to stick on the hole reinforcers? WRONG. The below picture shows what happens if you don't wait for the base coat to dry!!
Sticky nail with a reinforcer peeling your freshly painted nails!

Right, so once the nails are dry, simply stick on the hole reinforcer at the lower cuticle part of the nail and paint your second colour over the top!

Peel off the hole reinforcer instantly, making sure to peel lifting up towards the top of the nail, leaving a neat edge!

Guinea fowl feather nails

I've just recently purchased some guinea fowl nail feathers on eBay for around £3 and wanted to test them out, below shows the two nail varnishes I've used - these are ciate speed coat and revlon scented peach nail varnish.
The revlon scented peach nail varnish  is true to it's word and literally does smell like peaches! I've used this colour because the feathers I'm using are an off-white colour this is because I wanted the feathers to blend together well. Get scented revlon peach here!
I think this nail art works best if you choose a feather that's widely spread at the top and has lots of little spots on it, the feather above wouldn't work well because it's too short at the top for a wide nail but could work well on your little finger! Get the guinea fowl feathers here!

When doing the nails I first applied a coat of clear nail varnish and then added two layers of the revlon scented peach then placed the feather on top and held it in place for a few minutes. I then cut the top of the feather and shaped it to my nail. Then I applied two layers of clear coat on top making sure all of the feather was pressed down, taking care on the edges! Ciate top coat can be bought here!
Here's the result!

Falling confetti nails

Confetti loreal nails with ciate pepperminty
Just recently bought the loreal confetti nails in black and white which you can Buy Here at boots! I wanted to test it out but rather than having the confetti all over the nails I wanted to make them look as though they were falling in a gradient effect.
As a base colour I've chosen to use the ciate pepperminty colour which was taken from my ciate mini mani month advent calendar which is available at asos here, I think this colour works well as it's bright and will show up both the black and white spotted confetti. After layering the ciate pepperminty colour 3 times I then applied the loreal confetti to my nails, starting at the cuticle I just gently dabbed the confetti, layering lots of little dots and then bringing the brush (with fewer dots on the brush) to the top of the nail, below shows the final look!

Ciate Christmas Calendar

Here shows some Christmas style nails, the nail varnishes I've used are from the Ciate mini mani month advent calendar! It was a great purchase and included loads of little nail varnishes. Get this here

The advent calendar has a mini nail varnish for each day before Christmas and then on Christmas Day.. One large glitter red nail varnish!

Here I've used 3 different nail varnishes, a red coral colour used as the base colour and then the red and gold sequin varnish on just the one finger nail on each hand but kept layering the coats as I think this works really well! I then used a clear nail varnish to keep the sequins in place and this is the final look.
